Hi,
I'm trying to generate some invoice through invoice module. I've found that product.module implemets the invoiceapi (Am I right?), but when I create new transaction, place new order or change workflow status no invoice is created...
There are no decription how this module works and how to set it properly - ie I don't fully understand the Order of Invoice Screens in the settings page. I tried some configuration variation but nothing works.
Can anybody give me some hints? Thanks

gordon commentedThe invoice module is used by the back office to create invoices/transactions on the system.
To start a new invoice go to the user that you want to create an invoice and it will have a link to create a new invoice. This will then take you through the steps and you can create the transaction without using the cart.

vitamin-1 commentedPlease, could you explain, what the difference between creating new transaction and creating new invoice? It's possible to add products in both, without using the cart. Also, when creating new transaction it's possible to fill username/email, slightly different way than with invoice.module but the result is same.. When one should use invoice.module and when "create new transaction" function of store.module?

gordon commentedThe new invoice module is going to replace the existing Create Transaction, It is a lot more powerful, and most configurable than the old system. Also it you are using CiviCRM with ecivicrm you can create transactions of contacts.
The Invoice module is more extensible than the old system, and can have more processes added to it. So in the case of entering a donation the system can get the amount of the donation from the operator.
It is possible to run a complete Back office with the use of the invoice module.
Also in the case of small E-businesses, who also do a small amount of direct selling, like at events they can easily enter in the transactions for customers.
It is a much improved system that gives you all the capabilities of the cart, without actually having to be the customer to do this.
