Hello,

After having searched drupal.org, a lot of googling and several reinstalls I hope you can finally help me:

I've installed Drupal, everything just worked perfectly. The fun begins when I change the color of any theme: No matter if I only change one color manually or select a different color set (for example 'belgian chocoloate') the theme I'm using (like Garland or Bartik) is messed up: No css styles seem to be applied any more. After resetting the colors to the default, everything is ok again.

On the web I've found almost nothing about this behavior and what I found was about earlier versions.

You can see the problem on my site (http://gfox.bplaced.net/) which is supposed to display a standard Garland theme with 'Belgian Chocoloate'.

Thanks in advance...

Hello,

since no one seems to have dealt with an issue like this I continued trying some stuff on my own.

I installed a fresh Drupal on my own computer (Apache, MySQL, PHP). I had to manually copy the default.settings.php file this time - unlike on my web space where it seems to have been created by the Drupal installation script.

Here on my PC the color change works perfectly.

In another experiment I set all the permissions in my web space to 777 but that didn't help.

At the moment I'm a little disappointed by the poor support...

I think you need to rethink your approach to getting help. Statements like this will not get you very far in the Drupal community, nor will anyone be willing to take time out of their busy day to help you. This is open source software, no one owns it and no one is answerable to you if it doesn't work. Good luck with your issue. I'm done here.

Hello,

I'm sorry if I should have caused anger with my statement. But I won't revise it since it is true: I *am* disappointed that nobody even tried to help me. This is not the first open source community forum I'm a member of and I simply would have expected this community (around a CMS said to power 1.5% of all web pages) to respond faster (or at all). I think one should allow me to express this disappointment. Anyway: sorry.

However I really have to be thankful to you because your good wishes ("Good luck") took effect: I solved the problem on my own. My hosting provider doesn't like some options in .htaccess files which causes HTTP 500 errors. The responsible file was /sites/default/files/.htaccess.

Thank you for your help! ;)

Feeling disappointed and saying you're disappointed are two different things. If I were to come across this post after you had said you're "disappointed", I would have moved on right away (as most of the Drupal communty probably would), because of the sense of entitlement you have displayed. In the future, if you are looking for "A Quicker Response" hang out in IRC, not in the forums.
