Hi,
Are there any plans to port this beautiful little module to Drupal 7 ???

Would be awesome to have ALL textareas as resizable...

Thank you for this great module!

Thank you @nouriasaffi!

Looking forward to testing your port.

it's only a 250 lines module, and it should be easier to port now that there's no CCK/Body separation.

(it would be lovely to have an option to make ALL textareas on the site (private messages, contact forms, webforms etc) by default using this autoresize.js )

Thank you again for this!

Here is the Drupal 7 port of Resizable Body.
See(http://drupal.org/sandbox/nouriassafi/1568472)
There is also an interesting post here:

As always your feedback is more than welcome.

Thanks!
I Just tested the .zip that was attached in #9
I enabled the module, but unfortunately I didn't see any changes in the settings of the existing long text fields or new "long text" fields or "long text with summary" fields. I didn't see any additional settings page where the default behavior could be set.

UPDATE: I've just went to the actual textareas and typed a few lines and it started resizing. Nice start! (the resizeing UI is a bit "jumpy" and therefore disruptive for the writer. It would be nice to have it *smoothly* expanding as the original module did with animation option).
In case of "Text area (multiple rows)" (Text Processing set at "Plain text") it displays the content of multiple lines, all in a single continuous line (NOT GOOD). In case of "Text area with a summary" (Text Processing set at "Filtered text") it displays content alright - on separate lines. Works in Chrome and FF and works with Private Messages textarea too, although when replying it ends up displaying the user_pictures twice.

Generally speaking this is a good start for a port! Thank you!

Hi, in case you all haven't realised, I've long since left the Drupal community because I became dishearted at how beauricratical Drupal was, how offensive Chx was to me and other devs while other main devs turned a blind eye to him, and frankly, how much of an insane mess Drupal has become (and probably always was) when considering the lack of functionality it essentially provides.

Though it's really great to see people interested in maintaining this module, and keeping the flame alive as it were, I think it's incredibly sad that Drupal - at this level of so-called maturity - isn't able to allow developers to easily achieve what they really want. Seriously, something as simple as this module provides shouldn't be this difficult, right? Whenever I set up a Drupal site, I always felt like I had to take the intrusive parts of Drupal away, or modify them because it showed little real-world knowledge of web development on the part of the main Drupal devs, and then proceed to add the necessary parts to the site, and oft build custom modules to achieve my goals. Drupal never saved me time. It was ALWAYS faster to develop my own code customised specifically for the site in development and more beneficial to the site.

As for this module, a few lines of jquery should suit you inside your template. Forget all this module nonsense. It may not be the "drupal" way, but it saves you heaps of time. Which is more precious to you? Following a fictional story just because, or your time?

Drupal is not - and never can be - a one size fits all. Simply, if you want a blog, you don't use Drupal, if you want a shopping cart, you don't use Drupal. I'm not really quite sure what you'd use Drupal for. My sites have run considerably faster since I ditched Drupal and saught out other methods. I urge you all to do the same.

I found it easier to build my own CMS to suit my style of code, and also that's practical for web users (and how I want to manipulate web users sense of direction). Needless to say, it allows doing basic things like this module provides with ease and possibly I may be releasing several parts of it later - though no where near the Drupal community!

Whatever your reason for still using Drupal, good luck with it, but please don't think it's a golden apple for all your web projects.
