I think it is reasonable to switch site name (or even logo, http://drupal.org/node/109043) when visitors select their languages.

So, if this function is implemented with locallizer module, that will be great! Logo is not necessarily changed due to language change, but site name often need to change.

Site name and all other site's variables support has been already implemented.
With the same code and system I should be able to translate also the theme
variables. I'm taking a look in these days.

In the next days I'll release a new version with these features.
