development site only works on the network where the server 'lives'. When accessing the site remotely the browser offers to save a phtml file rather than render the page, if I'm on the same network as the server the site works flawlessly.

I realize this is probably not an issue with Drupal but rather a misconfiguration of my own doing, however I hoped I might get some help on this issue. Sometimes the magic for searching is how you ask the question and I've not gotten any of those combinations right yet to garner any results.

Disable the firewall in front of the web server or at the remote site? Either isnt an option but was curious where your thought process was heading. I dont have one running locally on my laptop, ubuntu.

If you are able to access :80 when local, but are unable to when remote - I would peg that as a networking issue.
