Integration with Phorum

I'd like to announce the availability of the Phorum Integration module, which permits you to integrate a Phorum5 message board with Drupal 4.7.

The module runs Phorum from inside Drupal, with all output appearing on a normal Drupal page. User authentication is carried out by Drupal. Users are automatically synced from Drupal - when a user with the requisite 'phorum_access' permission accesses the Phorum page for the first time she is automatically added to the Phorum user database.

The module will only work with a completely fresh Phorum installation and does not provide a mechanism for integration with an existing database which contains registered users.

For anyone looking for a traditional style of forum to run as part of a Drupal site this may provide a useful solution.
