I was very close to getting everything implemented properly. Then I switched a node from to . I hadn't configured Full HTML properly to have the imagefield button. Everything broke. Now the button is missing in the TinyMCE editor for both the filtered and full html settings and there is no option to turn it on in the profiles.

It seems that I can mess around with things, enabling and disabling various features and eventually get all functionality back. However, when cron runs it resets everything and makes a mess of my configuration again. Wywiwyg profile options get disabled if not disappear completely. It seems to forget which images are attached to nodes, etc.... CRON is my current enemy with this module.
