We've all seen it happen, you deploy a site and let the site editors do their work. After a about a month, there are about 5 features in overridden status.

Wouldn't it be a good idea, if even possible, to add a settings tab to the features overview page where you can turn on a feature:
Notify when a feature has been overridden: "via Drupal warning messages", "via status report", "via e-mail" or "don't notify".
Maybe to keep it performant, check for overrides only every hour via cron run...
