It should be possible for an administrator to grant access to nodes from users' account edit page.

This need only be simple, like Ubercart's included uc_roles module.

This works exactly as designed for us, and we are proud to have developed it! This really needs to be put in the core module, please consider it.

I attached a screenshot to show visually what the patch does. Basically it just gives the same control that already exists for Ubercart Roles in that you can manually give a user expiring node access.
