This message goes out to everyone who is currently involved with -- or considering getting into -- Drupal:

Thank you for your ideas and continued support of the best thing to happen on the Internet since HTML.

I began using Drupal back in 4.5 while evaluating CMS platforms ranging from PostNuke to Joomla. At the time I simply considered it a "good option" and regrettably continued to explore other alternatives. Last year I decided that no single CMS could handle the ideas I was working on and went about paying for the development of my own CMS.

If I could turn back time I would happily invest the money I spent elsewhere on Drupal. Unfortunately, these are simply "lessons learned." Nonetheless, I hope this message reaches someone in my position when evaluating the alternatives. Do not look anywhere else -- especially if you have read this message while evaluating your options.

Drupal is simply the best.

Drupal 6.x is being planned, so it's not too late to invest in Drupal. You've got working code and ideas; why not share them?

Working code and ideas aren't necessarily a problem:

http://www.OregonDistrict.com

The site was intended to be the first in a series of 'local community empowerment' sites. We ended up with something wonderful but the problem was replicating the sites for other communities -- something that Drupal inspired us to do at the beginning of the project.

I'm unsure how a phpZend codebase would necessarily help the 'future planners' aside from providing a 'working example.' Currently we're doing exactly that by working with Drupal coders to replicate our efforts.

Perhaps a primer to get involved in the next evolution is necessary!
