So how do I get more people to the site?

Marketing. exchange links with sites like your own. Banner exchanges can help too.

What other search engines should I submit to and how?

all the majors and most of the minors will find your site. MSN, YAHOO, ASK, ALEXA are 4 others off the top of my head.

How do I teak my site for the best rankings?

add content, content, content. from my limited understandingh the more often a search spider comes to your site and finds new content, the more often the spider will crawl your site.

"How do I get more people to my site?" is a question everyone asks. There are no easy answers.

To help your pagerank, look at the nodewords module, pathauto. Make bookmarking easy for users with servicelinks. Look at taxonomy context and similar links module to help cross-reference content. Smart use of taxonomy using your keyword phrases.

The best way is write content that is valuable and relevant -- things that other people will link to. The commodity you are after is attention, and that is not easily gained and can be fickle.

What keywords do you want to rank for?

Read the resources here about link building techniques. The next step would be getting inbound links to your site from other good related Web sites.

I would use clean URLs and 301 redirect the old pages to the new ones before the site develops too far...

DMOZ is a source for many other search engines, so make sure you get them. Then follow up that they entered your info right.
