I happened to search the web for drupal themes and was directed to http://www.drupal2u.com website. My issue is if its safe to use the themes from the website, since i find some of the theme attractive.

There is always a risk with the use of any contrib them and/or module, weather it's on Drupal.org or not. The Drupal issue queue's are not really a place for discussing the reliability of a company. You can always ask people on IRC, in discussion groups or finding some reviews on Google. Good luck though.
