The "original article" link shows up fine when a feed author is the administrator. But when the feed author is changed from the administrator to another user, the "original article" links disappear from the feed item nodes.

I'm changing the issue status to "by design".

The user/author of the feed MUST have role access permissions to perform leech functions. I had not done this. Once I added the proper permissions to the feed author's role, the proper "original article" link reappeared, at least on leeched data from that moment forward.
