Issue Summary

Hi

I'm pulling what little hair I've got out on this... What took 30 seconds to do in Wordpress so far is 6+ hours in Drupal.

I'm doing an affiliate link site, and have a list of products on a page. (eg http://mysite.co.uk/gizmos). The product link for each item points back to my datafeedstudio database, which is at http://mydatafeed.co.uk/datafeedstudio (this is site 1 of a multisite, so want the datafeed to be in a common location)

The links work fine, redirecting to the correct affiliate site etc... However, it looks a bit naff & unprofessional (and may be a security risk exposing my datafeed web address) when hovering over a link it shows my datafeed site. The link also has a query string at the end, and i'm not sure if this is part of the problem.

What i want to do is cloak/redirect the link to appear as if it's an internal page within my site, but no matter what i try i keep getting 'page not found' errors. i don't know if the problem is within Drupal or an .htaccess line i should be applying...

Bottom line is this - I want to go from:

http://mydatafeed.co.uk/datafeedstudio/index.php?id=x_xyzxyz&clickref=&site_id=

to:

http://mysite.co.uk/productdetail/index.php?id=x_xyzxyz&clickref=&site_id=

for the record, i've tried creating the /productdetail subfolder already, containing an index.php file which should do the redirect, but that's not working... i've also tried various drupal modules (gotwo, path redirect, global redirect etc) to no avail.

any help would be appreciated, once this is sorted i'm pretty much ready to rock and roll! but this is a *big* problem

I've sorted it...!

After a flash of inspiration, I copied the /productdetail folder to the root of the drupal installation (it was previously in /sites/mysite.co.uk/) and now it works :-)

golly, i'm so brainy sometimes i scare myself! :-p LOL

HI there devilpigeon,

I bought DataFeedStudio just yesterday and was hoping that I might integrate it with Drupal down the line.

I was wondering if we might open up a line of communication outside of drupal.org and chat about what has worked for you and possibly assist one another in the future.

Cheers.
