The site has been live and running great for 3 weeks. I've been trying to figure out link modules all day, not really changing anything else.
Suddenly anonymous users can't see content while the front page has reverted to "welcome to your new drupal site". The two articles that should be published to the front page are no longer published to the front page though they should be according to settings.
All of the content is still on the site and anonymous Users do have permission to view content in access control.
I have no idea what I did to screw this up.

Dang it. Never mind. I had enabled the cac_lite module while grasping for straws in trying to understand/tame a couple of different weblink modules.
Had only enabled it, and not entered any settings but that seems to be what tossed the whole site overboard.

Does that mean that adding settings put everything back in order? I experienced the same issue, but entering settings didn't solve the problem.

I didn't add any settings
I disabled the module. I didn't have the slightest understanding of what it even did before I had inadvertantly enabled it.
It's weird, I wouldn't recommend random setting changes like that but 'step by step' instructions for us non-experts are so very few and far between, so that's been aboot the only way for me to learn.
It's very painful, but at least I'm getting there.
