Redirect Status alteration?

Hey guys! This is a great module and is exactly what I am looking to use on our project site at pcper.com. However, I have a question? What type of redirect does the ShURLy module use? Does it support configurable HTTP redirect status?

I ask because of the issue of having multiple URLs point to the same content and the negative affect that can have on site SEO. If the module uses a "permanent" redirect then it should be fine.
