I'm just getting to grips with Drupal and am starting with v5. However, I'm look at adapting some existing taxonomies which are far too elaborate to be re-entered manually, so would love to use your import/export mechanism.

Any word on if or when there will be an update for Drupal 5?

There is only one patch for porting this module into Drupal 5.x ... I'm testing it right now (and trying to implement a better way for inserting terms according to depth)
