Math markup

Some of the content on our site will involve math formulas. Is there a way to accommodate this with Drupal?

Two modules, Drutex and Mathfilter

There are two possible modules you can use. Drutex will produce nicer, cleaner mathematical equations, but requires quite a lot of programs installed on your server (LaTeX, Dvips, Ghostscript, ImageMagick) that are not provided on every server.

Mathfilter requires 1 extra file to be downloaded and installed, specifically a binary appropriate for your server environment of Mimetex. If you are using Linux, then Mimetex.cgi, and for Windows it's Mimetex.exe. The images this module produces aren't quite as good as the Drutex alternative, but installing the module is a lot easier. Unfortunately, not all servers support using CGI or executable files, so this may not work for you (although there is a public Mimetex.cgi available if you do some searching).

Drutex comes with a lot of additional features and basically acts as an interface between your website and LaTeX. Mathfilter also allows users to add mathematical equations.

How about Drupal 5.0

I'm sorry for posting this question here as well, but does Drutex work with Drupal 5.0?
