Hello,
Is it possible to display a message to the user if he has not created any content (of a particular type) on the website yet ?

In Rules Bonus Pack there is a condition "Check number of results from a view" that could be used for this.

In that case, you need a view that takes the UID of the acting user as an argument, and returns the content created by that user.
