I would love to upgrade to D7 but the one thing keeping me back is an easy to use audio module of some sort that allows visitors to the site to listen & download audio files. In D6 I used the Audio Module and like others (http://drupal.org/node/1047648) I'm hoping for the project to be continued - I think it's brilliant and easily implemented for those like myself who are not Drupal wizzards (though I wish I was).

In the meantime I've tried to get something usable going with the Media module and Views, but after many many hours of reading and trying I've yet to produce anything usable. I simply lack the knowledge or someone to show me how it's done. I've looked and searched the net to no avail.

Would anyone have suggestions that would guide me to get something like this going in D7? Links to 'how-tos'? Detailed instructions on how to use Views and other modules specifically for this sort of thing? Suggestions to useful (and maintained D7) modules?

I would very much appreciate any suggestions.

You can try using the dev branch of http://drupal.org/project/jplayer. Use the new Core fields in D7, and this will turn the upload into a player. Works for both Video and Audio. As far as providing a download link, as well, I haven't done that in D7.

Thanks for that Anthony. I'm having some trouble making jplayer behave itself. Apparently others are too (http://drupal.org/node/1192826). I'll keep looking for good solutions.

I'd love more suggestions from people if you have any experience with this.
