Thanks for great theme. However, I would like to customize homepage with views driven layout. I would also like to display some blocks. Please suggest.

Hi,

To add block regions to the front page you could create them in a template override sheet sites/default/journalcrunch/page--front.tpl.php
This may be tricky if you are not comfortable with html and php.

An alternative could be to use a module that allows you to split the content area into blocks, I can't remember what it's called right now and personally never used it so...
