Using @Font-your-face with Fluid Grid causing disparity in vertical alignment

I'm using the font "Bebas"s as a content header in the FluidGrid layout I'm using. On page load the content's header is, I'm assuming, being re-sized from the page's default font-family, Arial, to accommodate for the smaller font being rendered in it's place. I placed two windows side-by-side for comparison, one with the @font-face effect disabled, so I'm pretty sure this is what's causing the problem...explanation forthcoming...

When the page loads, the boxes (that is the fluidgrid-item containers) in the vertical space have large gaps between them, as a result of that resizing process (again, my assumption). Is there anyway to correct this issue, as the main draw to using this module was ridding myself of these spaces?
