I've been working on porting this module to Drupal 7. The code for this module is still pretty easy and compared to Drupal 6, all available field types are supported.

Can't we simply deprecate this module in favour of Hidden Field Widgets? I really don't see why we need both (for D7). We could always merge them if things are missing.

Is there life in this project? Working on a site which needs the exact functionality of this module (term reference) but there are no alternatives
