I am planing to use drupal's book (outline) function to organize essential/thumb-up posts in forums. But, can it deal with thousands and even hundreds of thousands of book pages or forum nodes added into outline? It seems that the drop-down parent-node selection list will grow to a horrible size.
Anybody can help to clarify this question? thanks.

In my point of view, the discussion will provide enough material to write a faq page resuming it. It's more dificult to follow a discussion in a forum to get some information, than to access a faq page that goes up to the point without personal opinions, smiles, signatures and most noise that come up in a discussion.
