Currently, it appears that the !desktop_url token doesn't respect the active subdomain, in the case of the message block.

As it should work:
m.subdomain.domain.com/some/page should redirect to subdomain.domain.com/some/page

As it presently works:
m.subdomain.com/some/page will redirect to domain.com/some/page

(in this particular case, the problem was solved with the domain configuration & domain settings modules)

I don't see where !desktop_url is defined at all in Mobile Tools and I'm not terribly familiar with Token.

Is the !mobile_url token affected as well?

You know, this was so long ago that I don't remember how I tested it or came up with a domain configuration/settings fix. I would suggest closing this since there hasn't been any other people who ran into the issue since this was posted.
