I use CCK and want to expose certain fields on worklfow states.

where do i enable/disable state based on workflow state

what i would also like to achieve is to enable a sub form only in a partucuar state

I you haven't yet, use the workflow fields module issues' page. (Drupal > projects > workflow fields)

Your other requests are defined in the help menus or within the readme files of the module.
