On every site I've tested on (Drupal 6.22, Pressflow 6.22, vanilla or non-vanilla) I don't think activities are being generated anymore using Activity Log 2.0-alpha1 or recent dev. I've tried the regenerate script, but regardless of what number of days I set, it only seems to be stating that it's generating a single activity log for one node save. Regardless, I can't seem to display that node, or any other, via the Activities view (even after saving plenty of new nodes, using the default and/or custom Activity Log rules). I'll get cyborg_572 to look at the database a little more closely or I could get a copy running exhibiting these issues on a live server that you could access if you have the time to see the results for yourself.

Using the latest dev (of July 26th) on Drupal.org, I did manage to get an error message on one site while attempting to regenerate activity logs:

An HTTP error 500 occurred. /batch?id=7&op=do

500 errors are server errors, not related to Activity Log or even Drupal. But regeneration should be working in beta and later now

I'm getting a similar error when trying to regenerate activities that relate to Flags:

An HTTP error 0 occurred. /batch?id=72&op=do.

The default activity rule seems to regenerate without error.

Please don't reopen old closed issues. You are welcome to start a new one if you need to, referencing older issues that may be relevant, and please include relevant lines from your PHP error log and Drupal watchdog.
