Custom Publishing Options 6.x-1.2 breaks compatibility

Although this module claims to support custom publishing options, I haven't been able to get it working with the latest versions of both modules. The user interface in Userpoints Node Action Seems a bit strange, as the "action options are as follows:

Publish
Sticky
Promote
feature (this is the custom publishing stage I created)
-feature
-Feature
node_types (these are the types for which this has been enabled)
-Classified
-Event
-Housing

Selecting feature or Feature as the action, and classified, event, or housing as the Publication type, appears to create a rule, which I can find in the database, and which it says has been successfully created. However, it doesn't show up in the list of stored rules down at the bottom of the page. Any idea what could be causing this? I have installed and uninstalled the modules, clearing the database, on several occasions, to no avail. Any assistance would be appreciated.
