Can it be that the integration jquery_colorpicker also does not function in 7.x-1.3 yet?
The module runs at other place, integrated, e.g., as a field.
Also theme_hues works. It seems to be currently the best solution to let control user the Theme (partially).

The documentation is wrong. I got ahead of myself, and haven't yet implemented support for the jquery_colorpicker module.

Please use the jscolor third-party library for now. I have updated the instructions on the project page, and the README.txt file in the Theme Hues package correctly explains how to get a color picker working.
