Text field (not long) with size limit and advanced editor enabled doesn't save content

I've a field nested in a collection field (extra module) which is text (not long) and i enabled advanced text editor in the field setting.
But when i switch to advanced text editor and fill some text (with or without extra effect, even if the html + text size is way shorter than what is the limit) then the text is not saved and the field always comes back empty.
