Teachers' TV is a UK-based free-to-air television channel aimed at people working in education. The channel is funded by the Department for Education and Skills and operated by Education Digital, a consortium of Brook Lapping Productions, ITV and the Institute of Education. The Teachers' TV website makes most of the channel's programmes available to view online or download. As of February 2007 there are 1,500 programmes and over 85,000 registered users on the site, averaging over 1 million visits per month.
The Teachers' TV website won the "Best Public Sector Service" award at the 2006 Revolution Magazine Awards. The website was selected as a finalist in the 2006 Japan Prize, and was twice shortlisted - winning highly commended - in the 2006 BIMAs (British Interactive Media Association awards).
The Teachers' TV development team was led by Mark Leicester of Efurbishment Ltd. Teachers' TV makes use of the following non-core modules: banner, event, bookmarks, commentmail, feedback, flexinode, forms, forward, glossary, googleanalytics, gsitemap, insert_view, ip2cc, links package, nodewords, pathauto, pathfilter, quotes, sections, simplevote / votingapi, site_tour, survey, timymce and views. Looks good, except the windows media player. Flash videos are lot more user friendly. ;)

Tell me about it... This situation should be resolved in the next six months. Teachers' TV made the decision to use Windows Media back in 2004. Flash has since emerged as the clear winner; now we just need to re-encode our 1,000 hours of video!
