Libraries API causes consistent slow loading

I installed the 7.x-2.x-dev version of the Libraries API so that I could get the geshifilter module installed. Once I installed the Libraries API, even before installing the geshifilter module, I can consistently click around my site and 1/5 clicks will result in a white page where the progress bar spins in my browser. For a few seconds, refreshing the page will do nothing and then it will come back to life and work for a few more clicks. Disabling the module gets my site browsing back to where it was prior to installing the module. Have you guys heard of anything like this? I didn't see any bug reports.
