We are currently working on getting a site ready for public access, including loading and updating the existing information. The site is currently in "maintenance mode" while we are working on it. We have several users who should have access to the site to post content while the site is in maintenance mode, but should not have administrator access.

I searched in the modules, and found a module that would do this, but it was for Drupal 6. I couldn't find anything like it, either in a module or in the Drupal Core that allows this.

Any suggestions?

Do you remember what module that was ?

I'm looking for such a module in D6, but cannot find it...

If you give the trusted members a role, you can give that role permission to access the site while in maintenance mode.
