hi dstuart, all

I am posting this idea, am trying to work out how to do this now, I probably wont get much past a simple Drupal+Nutch+Solr install first time round, but I thought I'd put the idea out there.

Basically I want to be able to use Acquia Drupal with the Apache Solr and Nutch modules to work with LucidWork Enterprise Solr package hosted on Amazon Ec2 and using Aegir to do manage multiple instances of Nutch.

It just seems crazy that Nutch+Solr+Drupal isn't used by 10 000's of sites !

My thinking is to leverage professional open-source packages as much as possible

elements;

-Acquia Drupal
--Apache Solr modules
--Nutch
-LucidWorks Enterprise or LucidWorks Solr or other?
-Aegir
-Amazon EC2
-Ubuntu Lucid LTS

have discovered LucidWorks Enterprise costs a fee for production use, so its probably out of my range

also, found a Nutch maintainer who is running a SaaS on Hadoop, not sure about Drupal integration http://openindex.io/

I am closing this issue, since Drupal 6 isn't supported anymore.
