Publishing videos, photos etc work perfectly in Facebook-style Statuses posts.

But they don't seem to appear in Facebook-style Statuses Comments.
Is there a way to make this work?

This would require a further abstraction that FBSMP doesn't have right now in order to tell the difference between status and comment attachments. It's a good idea but not one that's likely to happen short-term I think.

I don't think it should be hard but there are other priorities for FBSMP such as port to D7. I, however, doubt if Drupal will be able to handle the AJAX complexity.

Good point. It might be reasonable in D7 but it's probably infeasible in D6.
