This does look like a very useful module.
I've taken the first step and ported to drupal 5. Very few changes were needed, a info file and the function to send emails has changed.
I will attach the two file, be sure to remove the .txt extensions.

Much more is needed to be done as everything is currently hardcoded in the module.

Thanks for the port agilpwc. I've just run a test installation - though I'm not familiar with e-commerce module stuff - and I can't seem to find the 'guestlist' mentioned in the original documentation ... am I just being stupid again ?

From what I've seen, I agree with agilpwc that a lot of work is needed to open up this module for more general application. I think it would be very useful :) I'll open a new feature request issue on e-ticket to see if there's much interest from clever people ;)

there is no direct link in admin to the guestlist, but the url is just /guestlist
I had to look in the code to find it.
