D6 version of custom add another [#1238806]

This is 100% what I need!!! Sadly, my project is in D6. Is there any chance I can talk you into back porting this to Drupal 6?

I don't have the time to back port, but if someone wants to make a start and fill patches/open a sandbox etc. Then I'd happily commit the code.
