Hello Drupalites,

Project Opus has been growing a lot lately and new opportunities are leaving us tight for development staff. As many of you know we are a Vancouver based Drupal project.

We are currently looking for one full time developer to work on Project Opus, and a few other related projects.

This will be a full time employment position, so we'll need to you to be in the office (this is NOT contract work).

Drupal chops is a big plus, obviously, as well as a few years of PHP experience.

For the right person this job will be a big learning experience and opportunity for career growth.

Web Developer

Project Opus Technologies (www.projectopus.com)is looking to add another web developer to the roster.

The successful candidate should have the following:

Skills:

Experience with, and passion for, Open Source communities
Experience with CMSs and programming frameworks (experience with Drupal a big plus!)
Proficient with PHP (you know it inside and out)
Experience developing on and for the Linux platform
Proficiency with Javascript / AJAX
Experience with Javascript frameworks (Prototype, script.aculo.us, JQuery, etc...)
HTML / CSS well rounded experience (not necessarily a guru of either, just a good familiarity)
Has managed / worked with version control systems (subversion, CVS)
Scripting languages (Bash, sh, Ruby, Perl, Python, etc..)
Apache, Lighttpd, memcached, NFS, load balancing, and other common web technologies
Experienced with MySQL

Should be continually training in the following skill sets:

Current web-development techniques and technologies (JSON, AJAX, Ruby on Rails, ... you love to learn these things!)
Server side architectures (How can we optimize this page by 100ms? What is the best way to scale to more servers? How can we better optimize our caching strategy to serve faster pages? ... these are problems you like to solve!)

Work ethic:

Detail oriented (crossing the t's and dotting the i's is important to you)
Take personal ownership of projects
Works best without direct supervisison (self managed)
Always learning and sharing knowledge with the team
Are an active team-builder, fostering team spirit with co-workers
Shows flexibility and the ability to multitask
