I know the function of flag abuse and would love it to work on Drupal Guestbook entries as well.

Is there any chance Flag abuse will work on DGB in the near future?
If not: can you point me to a solution where users can flag a guestbook item?

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with DGB. If they are nodes, you should be able to enable the flag for that content type. If comments, you should be able to do that too. Flag Abuse works off of the Flag API, so anything that Flag will work with, Flag Abuse should as well.

If Flags do not currently work with DGB entries, then you may want to move this issue over to that issue queue and get some help on making them compatible.
