Sorry, I'm a newbie, but I can't work out how to install it. After extracting the files into the modules folder, what should I do to get it to show up in the list of modules?

you don't extract the files into the modules folder. you extract the folder into sites/all/modules or sites/default/modules you will have to create a modules folder in one of these two locations.

After the module is enabled, you will get a new menu setting at administer -> site configuration -> tagadelic configuration

Thank you for your reply. I extracted it into sites/all/modules, and then when that didn't do anything, I tried it in sites/default/modules. It's still not coming up in my list of modules. I must be doing something really dumb, though I'm not having trouble installing other modules.

your positive you have the 5.x versioon of this module ? if it has a .info file inside the folder it should show up.
