Remove the time/date in page display [#1240666]

I am using announcements version 6.x and 5.x is there a wa I can remove the date display wh some one clicks on the link toead the full announcement?

Starting August 4, 2011 - Ending August 11, 2011
welcome this is just a test of the announcement system.

I would like to be able to remove

from the page

Can this be done?

I took a look at the module and think I found where it is getting displayed, but I only know enough php to hardly ead it, wounyone be willing to mod this for me or better yet a request to add check boxes with in the announcements settings where one could check to display te time ad who created it and another for displaying the start andend date.
