configure number of multiple values textfields

I guess I am missing somehing totally obvious here, but I cant figure out how to get more than three textfields with the text.module and multiple values enabled. Is there any option to set the number of fields? Actually the users should automatically get more fields if existing fields are filled (on preview) IMO. Is this possible?
