redir gives "The page you requested does not exist" [#1241308]

Steps:
1 - Installed the module
2 - admin/settings/ext_link_page - enable "New Window", enable "No follow"
3 - admin/settings/filters/2 - Enabled input filter "External links page". Also is the first on the priority
4 - Clear cache
5 - Refresh content page - all external links are now with "http://mydomain.com/redir?url=http://externalsite.com"
6 - Click on that link
7 - On the same page (not new window) get "The page you requested does not exist. "

What I'm doing wrong?

Update:
Disabled the module "Search 404" to avoid conflicts if any.

Got "Page not found" when using the redir links.

I have disabled the input filter to allow the links work properly (using a live site), and just test the URL with the redir part.
Seems the problem is with the redir...
