JQuery UI is already in core, it's would be great if we have this feature in Drupal 8: http://drupal.org/project/better_messages

nquocbao commented+1. It would improve the usability of Drupal. We should also add option to display messages too, such as popup or normal inline.
vm commentedHidng messages can be accomplished by removing the $message variable from the tpl.php file.
The module in question wasn't updated to Drupal 7.x. Perhaps due to the overlay module in use.
IMO this should continue to live in contrib and the module maintainer should bring it up to D7 and D8 before it's considered for inclusion in D8.
Marking as postponed.
thehong commentedWe do not remove it, we need the messages hiddable.
I think this is not reason to postpone this feature.
vm commentedThe way new features get into core is with initiatives and patches. There is neither here.
thehong commentedVM, are you Drupal 8 branch maintainer? I still not see any reason to close this.
vm commentedNo. I'm not a branch maintainer. Just someone from the community who answered the call to action to help clean up the queue.

quietone commentedThis should be discussed in the ideas queue first.

pameeela commentedThis module does not have a stable release for D8 or above so I'm going to close this.
