Anon users posting seem to be getting emails fine, but registered users are not getting any notification of any sort. Is there a conflict with SPAM module?

Hi,

In general reg'ed users should receive their notifications as the anon users,
as this is explicitely implemented in the code.

What setting do you have in

"Let registered users select notification on a node basis" ?

Is the field users.init filled with a valid email address ?

The "Let registered users select notification on a node basis" option is selected and email is correctly entered into account. "Receive comment follow-up notification e-mails" is also selected, but "personal contact form" on the user account is disabled. Is that option required?

I have personal contact form enabled and it doesn't work for me either. It has patch instructions which may or not may be relevant. They don't work when I tried them so I assume the changes were made in the last fix.

I just went back to the Notify module. It doesn't do notification for anonymous people but it works for registered users, which is what really matters.

not sure if you guys still got a problem with the module or if you are refering to the comment_notfiy patch instructions at all

the users.init vs. users.mail issue is fixed in the 5.x version - please retest and reopen if problem persists

Or do you mean that reg'ed users didn'T see the "notify me" checkbox?

this bug could have to do with the default comment_notify settings

i.e. " Let registered users select notification on a node basis "

when I went into settings for comment_notify,
and just let everything checked, pressed save, the checkbox I was
missed appeared for reg'ed users as well

Can you confirm this was your problem?

I believe the problem was the the email was being sent to the users.init email (meaning the email when the account was created) and not users.mail (current email in account). I'm still using 4.7. Will there be an update for that version?

hi, no - maintenance of the 4.7 version is not planned

Sounds like this is fixed in 5.x thought still broken in 4.7. I agree with Cristoph - no need to maintain the 4.7 version.
