The images used for this are out of date. For example the firefox one says firefox 3.6.

Better if the non-ie browser images didn't have a version number.

There are also unused browser images in the module folder that should be removed too.

+1 for updated images, as they're now 2 major versions late for FF5 and one for IE9.

Here are some new images for firefox and safari that have no version numbers.
They are just modified version of the images already in the module.

IE 9 is a more complex issue because not everyone can get it.
If you are on windows xp then IE9 is not a valid option and IE8 is still the relevant image.

Here is a patch for the code changes for the images in #3.
Just add those images to the images folder in the module and apply this patch.

Thanks, but I'd prefer to recommend the current version to assist people getting the most up-to-date experience. I've refreshed the browser icons in 7.x dev.

Thanks,
Will drupal 6 get it too?

jonathan_hunt’s picture

It would make sense to backport the updates from D7 to D6 but I won't have time to do this for a couple of weeks.

agileware’s picture

Cool thanks, no rush.

Any chance committing these to D6 soonish?

And here's IE icon without version number because XP and older OS's can't download IE9.

I've abandoned the idea of tracking browser version numbers, especially because recommend the correct version number in Windows is a challenge also. Thanks for the images. Committed to dev.
