I've seen a few posts with similar titles, and found them useful, but in need of updating. So I'm starting a new thread. I hope that others have found those posts useful enough to continue this tradition.

My $.03
Here's the hosts I've been involved with, and how I feel about them.
http://p4host.com : Decent host for $24/year. I wasn't using Drupal when I was with them, so I can't specifically comment on performance. I left without grudges, just looking for a bit more.
http://webhostingbuzz.com : Big limits for the rates I was paying ($36/year, but I don't think you can get this deal anymore). I had frequent problems with pop servers. The worst was when they changed me over to greylisting without telling me about it, so I'd have people resend stuff because they were bouncing my mail back for an hour. They also made other changes without telling me (not uncommon with hosts), such as php settings (so existing pages became broken). Despite these issues, I'd consider them a resonable deal.
http://mmhosting.com : Good performance with Drupal. Generous limits. They got hacked, replaced all my index files with garbage. They discontinued SSH without telling me. I renewed my account before I found out why SSH wasn't working, or I would have looked for a better provider. Perhaps this worked out for the better, as perusing these forums makes me wonder if they're not the best shared host for Drupal. So I decided not to demand my money back. SSH is a security hole on a shared host anyway.
I took over maintenance on a site hosted with a local reseller. This worked well for awhile. Then he had a problem, his host moved him to a different server, they lost our site in the process, I didn't have a recent backup (my fault!), and it took a lot of phone calls to get the host to find and restore our site (it was sitting where it was on the old server). Then the reseller got mad about this and switched hosts. This broke our site again. He didn't talk straight with me about what was going on. Then he had a health issue and quit answering his phone. We managed to fix the site ourselves, but are looking to jump ship. The moral of this story is that although this was a more touchy-feely relationship than dealing with startlogic, there wasn't any redundancy on the personnel front.
That's all I feel qualified to comment on today.
