With the media-7.x-2.0-unstable1 branch started, it would be great to see a new branch of this install profile to mirror that for testing.

Yes, definitely. There's currently a bit of a mix-up: the 1.x branch of the profile is using the 2.x branch of the Media project.

- Create a 2.x branch of the profile.
- Revert the 1.x branch of the profile.
- Check versions of required/optional modules in both branches.

I guess updating versions of required/optional modules in both branches is a continuous effort as development moves along.
