Getting local videos to work with Media Gallery

After reading the readme for this module I was not able to get local video working on my website. I have been browsing all the modules listed in the required and recommended and finally found what I was missing. Reviewing the media module lists the MediaElement module as an optional module. Once I installed this module and configured the view display for video to use video element I was able to watch videos on my test site that were stored locally instead of using YouTube.

I would like to request an update to the documentation that MediaElement be recommended to have local video playback. That should help other users get up and running faster who want to use local video.
