slidestaxx is a content curation platform, that allows users to to gather various social media into a beautiful slideshow for your blog, website or directly on slidestaxx. It is also my second try at a larger scale Drupal project.

Goals

I always wanted to create a platform that is able to aggregate different kind of media into a single beautiful format. Based on that idea slidestaxx was born. Here are a few examples how slidestaxx works: http://slidestaxx.com/about-slidestaxx

Features

Slideshows can be created from a variety of web sources. No matter if you use videos, pictures, bookmarks or product information. slidestaxx brings it all together. slidestaxx allows for a wide variety of media sources - from YouTube to Flickr.

Challenges

I am not much of a coder - so I needed to get creative. Due to the flexibility of Drupals module system I was able to create this app without major coding efforts.

Modules Use

slidestaxx heavily relies on Views, Embedded Mediafield and Dynamic Display Block.

quick question....do users have to create the staxx themselves?

p.s: had a quick try at copy and pasting the code into a facebook and myspace wall, not working...is this normal?

Views is indeed very powerful. Staxx need to be created by users themselves. I know that the embed code is not working with Facebook right now. Need to find a way to make it possible...

Considering the fact that you are not much of a coder i find this quite impressive. But i assume that you are more of a designer and do have some background in developing websites?

Thank you. I do have some experience with developing websites but no experience in writing complex code. I did a few changes to the code of some modules for the project - but they were mostly superficial. Without the flexibility of the Drupal system and the great contributions by the community, this would have not been possible.
